The Underdog Law Office was founded in 2009, when an unconventional young lawyer with a checkered past began filing unusual cases for underdog clients. At age 27, Michael Fuller started the Underdog Law Office (then simply called ‘Underdog Lawyer’) out of a dingy brick building with a leaky roof in NE Portland. Over the past 15 years, the Underdog Law Office has grown into a passionate team of elite lawyers and legal professionals, now located atop the ‘Big Pink’ Bancorp Tower in downtown Portland.

Underdog Law Office helps Portland families present interesting and important legal cases to local juries in state and federal court. We specialize in class actions and civil rights cases. Our Pro Bono Tenant Rights Legal Practice helps low-income, disabled, and elderly tenants fight back against corporate landlords and property management corporations.
Our firm only handles civil jury trials—we do not handle criminal law, family law, or transactional law.
Underdog Law Office associate attorneys are expected to present at least two cases to local juries each year, and to accept at least 20% of their cases on a pro bono basis.

How Underdog Law Office Serves the Portland Community
Every Friday, all Underdog Law Office team members are expected to volunteer at least two hours of community service.
Michael Fuller was held back in first grade and expelled from junior high. Now he gives back volunteering as a licensed substitute public school teacher.
