Holding Law Enforcement Accountable to You
When a law enforcement officer violates your civil rights or those of a loved one, the road ahead can feel intimidating. We have been down this road before, so you can breathe a little easier knowing that someone understands what you’re going through.
Here are some recent police misconduct civil rights cases where Underdog Law Office has successfully delivered justice for our clients:
- Portland attorney files 8 lawsuits against police actions during protests – In the aftermath of the 2020 riots, Michael Fuller filed eight separate lawsuits on behalf of people who were injured by law enforcement. His clients included a teacher, nurse, and student, who were hit by “less lethal” munitions that aren’t appropriate for peaceful protesters.
- Jury awards $1M to family of suicidal man fatally shot by Portland police in 2021 – In 2021, Portland police fatally shot Michael Townsend, a man undergoing a mental health crisis. Despite the police officer claiming he feared for his life, Michael Fuller argued that the situation should never have escalated to a life-or-death encounter. The jury agreed, awarding the family over one million dollars in compensation.
